Providing a Work Force for the Employers in the CVTC District

One of the primary missions of CVTC is to provide a trained work force for local employers. Outsourcing of CVTC jobs smacks of total disregard of one of the very reasons for our existence.

Chippewa Valley Technical College should be a major employer in the district it serves. Instead, top leadership at the College has decided to take jobs away from the area. When these jobs leave the area, so do expendable income and tax revenues. Tax paying residents continue to support the College through property taxes. CVTC top leadership chooses to take your tax dollars – millions every year -- and send them to other areas of the country, in particular Florida.

Leadership that defies CVTC’s own mission is no leadership at all. How can we taut and brag about our mission and strategic goals when we don’t even honor them ourselves? Furthermore, what kind of message is being sent about the quality of CVTC educational programs when CVTC leadership opts not to provide employment opportunities to its own graduates? The types of jobs being outsourced are the very jobs we are training our students to enter. Let’s not send the wrong message! CVTC is about quality – or at least it used to be.

Thanks to Dinky for supplying this article. (Hey I don't make up the names, I just submit them)
